Intro - Family Health Podcast with Dr G

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and college professor. One of the best parts of my job is talking to young adults who are away from home and on their own for the first time.  In our conversations, I find that many of them have had little to no instruction from their parents on sex, sexuality, or the issues that surround these topics.  As a result, they are making decisions that take them down paths which lead them further from the goals they have for their future.  

By the time most parents get around to having "the talk" with their children, it is too late.  Their sexual ethic has already been formed by their peers, media, and what they silently observed in their home. I want to encourage parents to have multiple conversations - "micro-conversations" - that go beyond "the talk" and equip their children to make choices from a biblical sexual ethic.

When families realize that they are in crisis mode with a child or in their marriage, the cost of counseling is often a barrier that prevents them from getting the help they need.  The Family Launch Academy membership is is an affordable alternative I have created for parents that want to go beyond "The Talk!" The membership site includes training videos and other resources for parents. You will also find access to coaching, counseling and community with other parents that want the same for their children.
